Welcome to the All about Billie Piper website. Billie Piper's big break in the entertainment industry came as a teenager, when she was chosen to appear on Scratchy and Co, a Saturday morning kid’s TV show. She later won a role in a TV commercial advertising Smash Hits, a pop magazine. In 1996 she sang backing vocals on a dance track by H2O called Nobody's Business. Soon thereafter, at the mere age of fifteen, she was given a record deal, and in 1998 she became the youngest recording artist to ever debut at the top of the UK singles chart with the song "Because We Want To", which was released under “Billie” her stage name.
Her second single "Girlfriend" then also came in at number one in the singles chart and her debut album, Honey to the B, which was released immediately after, entered the UK album charts at Number 14. She thereafter released two other singles from this album, namely the tracks "She Wants You" and "Honey to the Bee" with both songs entering the UK singles chart at Number 3.
Billie then took a full year off to record her follow up album. She chose to release more records as Billie Piper, her full name, and returned to the UK Singles Chart in May 2000 with a new, more grown up, sexier sound. She hit the Number 1 spot with "Day & Night", but her success wasn't to continue.
This was followed by a career break, before a successful re-launching as an actress. If you would like to know more about Billie Piper, please feel free to get in touch.
